FAQ

GENERAL

What are consultations for?

Consultations are the first step to achieving a result that feels natural and tailored to you.

During your appointment, we assess your hair, scalp, and goals, explore different lengths and textures, and guide you through the most suitable option. This is also when you receive an accurate, personalised quote.

Your timeline will depend on hair availability and the level of customisation required.

As each set is tailored, we begin preparation after your deposit is confirmed. In most cases, customisation can take up to 10 business days, followed by your installation appointment.

Extensions are typically a longer-term investment rather than a one-time service.

If you’re considering them for a specific event, we recommend booking a consultation to explore whether they align with your expectations. Many clients initially come for an occasion and choose to continue wearing them long-term.

INSTALLATION

How much will it cost?

Pricing is tailored to each client and depends on the length, colour, and amount of hair required.

An accurate quote is provided after your consultation, where we assess your hair and desired outcome.

The amount of hair varies depending on your natural density, length, and the final result you want to achieve.

As a general guide:

  • Volume: 50g – 90g
  • Length & fullness: 100g – 250g
  • Curly hair: 100g – 400g

Your exact amount will always be recommended during your consultation.

Your installation should not feel painful.

Some light sensitivity can be normal in the first few days as your scalp adjusts, but the method is designed to avoid unnecessary tension and prioritise comfort.

MAINTENANCE

How often is maintenance required?

Most clients return every 8 to 12 weeks.

This depends on your natural hair growth, density, and lifestyle. Regular maintenance ensures your extensions sit correctly and your natural hair remains healthy.

Not usually.

With proper care, high-quality hair can last well beyond multiple maintenance appointments. Replacement is only needed over time, depending on wear, styling habits, and overall care.

AFTERCARE

What products can I use?

Use high-quality products similar to what you would trust for your own hair.

We recommend sulfate-free, hydrating formulas and avoiding heavy product buildup at the roots. You’ll receive personalised aftercare guidance after your appointment.

You can continue most of your usual routines - including swimming, heat styling, and working out.

The key is proper care: brushing gently, avoiding excessive tension, and maintaining your hair consistently, just as you would with your natural hair.

OUR METHOD

Does your method use glue or heat?

No.

The Babalu Method is designed to be gentle and controlled, avoiding glue, heat, and unnecessary tension. We focus on secure placement that protects the integrity of your natural hair.

When installed and maintained correctly, extensions should not damage your natural hair.

Every installation is tailored to your scalp, density, and hair type to ensure balanced weight distribution and long-term hair health.

OUR HAIR

Brazilian vs Remy

Brazilian raw hair is unprocessed, selected in its natural state, and known for its versatility, durability, and range of textures. We only use Brazilian Hair.

Remy hair is more uniform in appearance but has undergone processing to achieve that consistency, which can affect its longevity over time.

With proper care, high-quality hair can last from one to several years.

Longevity depends on how the hair is maintained, as well as exposure to heat styling, colouring, and daily handling.

Minimal shedding is normal over time, similar to natural hair.

With correct care and maintenance, your extensions will retain their density and quality.

Brazilian hair can be coloured and lightened. However, as with natural hair, chemical processes can affect its condition over time.

We always recommend professional guidance to maintain the integrity of the hair.
